Some people may take this post the wrong way but here goes...
I grew up very poor. I know what is like to be very hungry. I have slept in a car because we didn’t have money for a hotel room or an apartment. Now I’m in my twenties and I very well off financially. I like to help people because I was given help before and I want to "pay it back". There are some people out that really need help but most of these posts are just too much.
** To the “I need money for rent people”:
If you can’t afford your rent you need to adjust your lifestyle. I can’t pay your rent every month. So explain why you need it this month and not the next. What changes are you going to make so you can afford it? Are you going to get a cheaper place? Rent a trailer? Work harder?
** To the "I need $800 for gifts for my children" people:
Asking for something nice for your kid is a somewhat legitimate or justified request. What is not justified, in my opinion, is asking for something like a $300 game console or iPod for each of your kids. I never once asked my parents for something that expensive because I knew they couldn’t afford it! That is a pretty selfish thing to ask for if my parents can’t even pay the bills. Maybe your kids don’t understand? Well, they will get over it and understand when they are older. You don’t need to buy your child’s love.
** To the “I need help with my $2000 - $30,000 bills” people:
Obviously we would all love someone to pay our bills. Buy us cars and give us a free place to stay. But they are “our” bills for a reason. I understand people asking for some help but no one is going to pay for a random person’s huge bill. I could give you the money but I would rather give it to a family member, friend, or a charity that makes sure it goes to the right people before I give that amount of cash to a random person online. Play the lottery you will have better odds then asking for 30k.
** To the “I need $200 for my cell phone bill” people:
Really? $200 for a cell phone!? Get off the phone if you can’t afford it. Buy a prepay phone for $15 and stop calling people. Use it for emergency calls / very quick calls. Trust me you will survive.
** To the “I need $3000-$5000 for a car” people:
I understand it really sucks to be without a car. I have had to walk long distances and the United States is not friendly to people without a car. But there are cheaper cars out there or you might even need to walk, bus, bike, ask for a ride.
** To the “I need $2000 - $7000 for credit card bills” people:
Seriously? Don’t even know where to start with that one.
Lastly, if you live in America or another 1st world country, be thankful for that. While you may cry over your cell phone bill there are many people living off garbage and come home to cardboard boxes that compain less.
P.S:
Put a picture on your profile if you really want help. It helps make you seem real and not just a random online profile with a fake story.
